Notebook Therapy Tsuki 'Gentle Giant' Bullet Journal

Hello, friends!

As you may know, I have always been a stationery junkie and during 2017, I went back into journaling. For the past two years, I am using an A5 dotted notebook from a local brand, Papernotes, and I am satisfied given its quality and affordable price. But my preferences change and since late this year, I am in a constant hunt for a dotted journal notebook with extra/more pages since I ran out of pages this November and I do not want to use another notebook since my target is to only to use one notebook for all journal entries for the year. 😅I have been eyeing on some brands such as Amanda Rach Lee and Maisie Lane Co’s A5 dotted notebooks. However, what prevents me from buying is that apart from its quite higher price (given that the brands are run by the artists who made the journals), I have to pay for a significantly high amount of shipping fee 😖, exclusive of custom taxes (should there be any) when the parcel arrives here.

Fortunately, I came across this international brand, Notebook Therapy, a Korean and Japanese stationery shop which offers a wide variety of journaling needs. Notebook Therapy is known for their Tsuki Collection, particularly, their bullet journal notebooks. What’s great about this shop is they offer free shipping on all orders with no minimum purchase! That is mainly the reason why I decided to purchase this product due the free shipping and affordable price point at less than USD30 without sacrificing the quality.

TIMELINE

29 September – order is confirmed (total price of journal is USD26.09 (PHP1,297.80) including discount of USD2.89
7 October – received updates from tracking service, Ship24, that my parcel is on its way
21 October – parcel arrived in the Philippines
23 October – parcel arrived at the delivery/post office
9 November – went to Caloocan post office to get my parcel

Basically, it took 25 days before the parcel arrived in Caloocan post office. The timeline is quite lengthy, but I do not have any issue with that since I will be using the planner by next year and I am not in a rush to get it since I already anticipated that the delivery will take longer than 15 working days.

I received a stub from the Caloocan post office last 6 November (which was delivered to my home address), notifying me to get my parcel at Caloocan post office (I reside in Malabon and Caloocan is the nearest PO we have). By 9 November early in the morning, I went to the PO and it took only less than 10 minutes for them to process the release of my parcel. 👍I paid PHP112 which is a standard handling fee indicated in the stub delivered last 6 November.

Why Tsuki Journal?

As I have mentioned earlier, the main reason why I decided to purchase the journal is because of the free shipping and for its paper quality at 160gsm at 176 pages, it is already a steal! I bought the Tsuki 'Gentle Giant' Limited Edition Bullet Journal

Other notebook specifications are as follows (lifted from the website, photos are mine):

〰 160 GSM ultra-thick bright white paper - no bleeding or ghosting
〰 5mm distance light grey dot grid - perfect for bujo photography
180° lay flat design - easily lay flat on your desk
Hand crafted velvety soft cover - high quality, durable and sustainable
2 bookmark ribbons - easily swap between your 'go to' pages
 Now available in original 135mm x 195mm, A5 and B5 sizes - I got mine in A5

I cannot wait to use this as my 2021 journal notebook. Should you wish you check the pen test to see if there are ghosting/bleeding, there are a lot of videos over the internet. 😄

Below are the links of other products mentioned:

1. Papernotes (I am using their classic A5 dotted journal)

2. Amanda Rach Lee A5 dotted notebooks (my fave here is the Teal one!)

3. Maisie Lane Co. A5 dotted notebooks (love their Rose Noir, simple and elegant)

Surprisingly, there are also other local brands like Papernotes which offer dotted notebooks at affordable prices! Below are some of them:

1. Hiraya Journal
